James Kunstle (he/him) is a Member of Technical Staff at the AI startup company Not Diamond and a Research Fellow in the Srivatsan Lab at the Fred Hutch. As a computer science undergraduate student at Boston University, he worked on adversarial machine learning techniques in collaboration with the Red Hat / Boston University Collaboratory. During his MS in CS at BU, James worked on applying network science to the quantitative study of open source communities. Before joining Not Diamond, James was a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Red Hat, leading the post-training team for the product RHEL AI.
With the Srivatsan Lab, James is working on scaling genome diffusion model training and improving lab computing infrastructure efficiency.
