A Washington native, she received her undergraduate education at Case Western Reserve University in Biology and Cognitive Science. At CWRU, she was a student researcher in Radhika Atit’s laboratory where she explored the genetic and molecular dynamics of craniofacial development. Over summers, she joined the laboratories of Brian Beliveau and Jay Shendure at the University of Washington where she found herself on the forefront of investigating mammalian organogenesis with single-cell sequencing technologies. Amazed by the trajectory that each cell takes from the very beginning to form complex living beings, she is inspired to understand the course of human development.
